Kaspersky Lab experts have identified a number of applications in the Google Play digital store that are infected with the Fleckpe Trojan. This malware unwittingly subscribes users to paid services and withdraws funds from their mobile accounts, informs safe list portal.

According to Kaspersky Lab, around 630,000 people have downloaded infected apps to their devices. The apps worked and functioned as intended, but they also downloaded secret code from a remote server that turned them into Trojans. The virus connected to the central server by transmitting the user’s country code and in response received a link to a page with a paid subscription.

In this case, the subscription is activated in the background without notifying the user. The user learned that the money was deleted only from the expense report.

It is stated that infected applications have already been removed from Google Play.
