Smartphone repair company ElectronicHub (EH) has released a major report listing smartphone models from the past few years that have been easier and more difficult to repair than others. Related publication seen on the EH website.
EH experts made an assessment of the maintainability of smartphones based on how long, on average, it takes to disassemble and fix various problems with the devices. Thus, the Moto G7 in 2019 turned out to be the most affordable smartphone for repair. It takes an average of 25 minutes to repair in 50% of cases. In second place is the Samsung Galaxy A40 (2019), which recovered in 42.9% of cases in 32.6 minutes. The top three were covered by another Samsung smartphone, the Galaxy S22 (2022), taking 48.1 minutes to disassemble and repair in 33.3% of cases.
Also in the top 10 are iPhone 11 Pro Max (63.2 minutes in 30% of cases), iPhone 12 (67.8 minutes in 25% of cases), Poco M3 (35.6 minutes in 20% of cases), OnePlus Nord 2 (44.1 minutes 20). % of time), iPhone 14 (47.7 minutes in 20% of time), Poco F3 (51.2 minutes in 20% of time), iPhone 12 (72.2 minutes in 20% of time).
In parallel, the most difficult device to repair was the Google Pixel 7 (2022), which took more than 60 minutes to repair in any case. The first three were closed by the iPhone SE 3rd generation – 55.6 minutes in 100% of cases.
The top ten also includes Redmi Note 7 (53.8 minutes), Xiaomi Mi 9 (53.6 minutes), Huawei P30 Pro (53 minutes), Redmi Note 11 Pro (45.4 minutes), Google Pixel 3a XL (45 minutes) , Samsung Galaxy A72 featured. (43.5 minutes) and Samsung Galaxy A53 (40.5 minutes).
As a result, EH experts noted that, on average, Apple and Asus smartphones are the easiest to self-repair. At the same time, experts recommend disassembling at least Sony branded devices on your own.
