In Russia, a new scheme was registered to deceive citizens with the help of phone calls – scammers claim that the victim gave him a loan approved by the Central Bank of Russia. It has been reported DEA News.

The scammer offers to check the availability of the application in the bank’s mobile application, reporting that he “sees it in the internal system of the bank”. During the conversation, the attacker also tries to find out how much savings the victim has in which banks.
According to an expert interviewed by the agency, recently, scammers often use the name of the Federal Reserve in their schemes because the regulator “subconsciously” gives the victim confidence. By the way, no approval from the Central Bank of Russia is required for loans.
