Sberbank chose the software of the Russian company Tangle as one of the components of the shared data environment, which consists of a computing core and a 3D viewer, a special program for viewing three-dimensional objects and working with augmented reality. This was reported by the press service of Sberbank. It is stated that the technology is now operational.
Sberbank plans that several thousand users will work with the new platform. And not only Sber employees, but also contractors, who will ensure the exchange of digital data at all levels.
When Sber needed a new engine for its shared data environment, the company’s experts chose six native IT solutions – all stress-tested to use the engine on non-high-end user equipment, working with large construction data models and speed. The company explains.
It has been clarified that the best results are shown by the 3D viewer of Tangle, a fast and high-performance solution that ensures correct conversion and loading of data. In addition, this is a completely domestic development.
According to Vasily Chekanov, Deputy Director of the Construction Department at Sberbank, it was important for the company that the engine not only allowed to work with data in IFC format, but also imported them directly from computer-aided design systems, especially directly. from Revit.
“We also made high demands on the performance of the engine, which should not run on the most powerful office equipment, while providing the ability to disassemble the information model, extract metadata from it and work with them. Tangle’s solution met all the demands,” says Chekanov.
Tangle CEO Andrey Belkevich notes that the creators of the platform initially focused on the principle of full autonomy from foreign solutions.
“Time has shown that this approach is correct. And cooperation with Sber has opened the door to a new promising market for us.”
Belkevich added that the company does not see the 3D viewer as a stand-alone solution, but the need for import substitution in the construction industry has made this product in demand.
