In April 2023, dozens of new potentially dangerous domains appeared in Runet, as well as fake Telegram channels and bots for creating an online military registration of soldiers. This was reported to socialbites.ca by Anastasia Klimova, an expert at RTK-Solar’s non-Solar AURA digital risk analytics centre.
In total, RTK-Solar specialists discovered 23 areas. Only four of them are currently active, meaning they redirect to the working site. All of them advertise service for exemption from military service. The rest of the domains are “asleep” for now, but at any moment, scam sites may appear on some, examples of which have already been seen by experts.
“In April, we came across an obviously fraudulent source. The site offered 99 rubles. Anastasia Klimova, to check whether you received a summons, but at the same time enrolled you in online fitness courses with a monthly payment, ”said Anastasia Klimova.
Also, according to him, against the background of the message about the creation of an online registration of conscripts, fraudulent activity was observed in Telegram. As an example, he posted links to 15 different channels and bots.
“The most common category is bots that allegedly check for the existence of people to be mobilized in the registry or some database. As a rule, such bots ask for a full name, phone number, date of birth and military service in order to conduct a check, ”explained Klimova.
Channels advertising a service to delete citizens’ data from the registry are also common. According to Klimova, scammers take 2 thousand rubles for her. up to 50 thousand rubles
