Helsingin Sanomat, Finland’s largest daily newspaper, used the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to distribute NWO-related materials among Russians banned in the Russian Federation. In this respect informs Reuters cites Antero Mukku, editor-in-chief of Helsingin Sanomat.
According to Mukka, he and his colleagues created a map in Counter-Strike that untitled “a war-torn Slavic city.” On the map is a secret room with virtual stands with photos of Helsingin Sanomat correspondents taken in Ukrainian cities affected by the military operation. The photographs are accompanied by English and Russian commentary reflecting the position of Western propaganda regarding the NWO.
Mukka said that they decided to take this action after Helsingin Sanomat started blocking Russian broadcasts in Russia. They timed it to coincide with International Press Freedom Day, celebrated on May 3.
“As we are very concerned about the situation with regard to the press and freedom of expression in Russia, we have decided to find new channels, from independent journalists to Russians, to disseminate reliable information, for example, about the situation in Ukraine,” Mukka said.
Helsingin Sanomat’s editor-in-chief also admitted that neither he nor his colleagues had asked Valve’s permission. The editors are confident that with their actions they do not violate the terms of posting user-generated content in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
