In 2024, an interactive map with data on flights of quadcopters and other drones in Russia can be launched. In this respect informs Edition of Vedomosti with reference to the Federal Air Transport Agency. The service is described as an analog of Flightradar24 aircraft motion tracking software.
The Almaz-Antey concern and the State ATM Company of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise will be involved in the development of the system. The service may rely on the existing operating system to send flight plans via the Internet and State ATM Corporation’s public telephone network. Another base is also being considered – a system developed since 2019 to control the joint movement of aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (RUTM).
The project cost estimate will be finalized after the basis of the new system has been determined. At the same time, Vedomosti writes that the total investment in RUTM alone has already reached 2 billion rubles.
It was noted that, unlike Flightradar24, after its launch, the Rosaviatsia service for tracking the movements of drones is only available to government agencies.
