Apple has started assembling iPhone 14 smartphones in Brazil; This is another step taken by the Cupertino company to diversify the production of its devices, mostly made in China. Portal reports 9to5Mac.
A MacMagazine blog reader bought a blue 128GB iPhone 14 in Brazil and was surprised to see the device assembled in his home country at Foxconn Brazil’s Sao Paulo factory. The device number ends with “BR/A” confirming that it was assembled in Brazil.
However, apparently, so far only the basic model of the iPhone 14 is produced on the territory of one South American country – older models with the prefixes Pro and Plus are imported from China.
It is stated that Apple has previously assembled its smartphones in Brazil – for example, the iPhone 13 and iPhone SE. Such a move would help the company reduce its reliance on China and the emerging political and economic differences between China and the United States.
