The American company IBM announced the suspension of hiring new employees who can be replaced by artificial intelligence. It has been reported Bloomberg referring to the words of company president Arvind Krishna.
According to Krishna, IBM currently has about 26,000 back office workers who do not interact with customers. “I see how easily AI and automation will replace 30 percent of these people in the next five years,” said the IBM president. According to Bloomberg estimates, we are talking about the decrease of 7.8 thousand employees of the company.
Krishna believes that simple tasks such as issuing certificates to employees or switching from one department to another will be fully automated. However, some functions of the personnel department, such as evaluating employee productivity, will remain with the person for now – at least for the next ten years.
