Microsoft wants to increase the proportion of women in cybersecurity

Microsoft has approved funding for a new cybersecurity professional development program that will primarily target women. In this respect informs Tech Radar version.

Microsoft believes there is a strong gender imbalance in information security (IS) in favor of men. Now, according to the IT giant, women in this niche make up no more than 25% of staff. To solve this problem, the company wants to fund various cybersecurity training courses for women.

The IT giant will focus on South American and Asian countries where the underrepresentation of women in cybersecurity is most evident. In total, the program will cover 28 countries, including Argentina, Chile, Indonesia and more.

Microsoft has already partnered with nonprofits such as Womcy, Women4Cyber, and WiCyS.
