Dozens of verified accounts of deceased celebrities have been found on Twitter, including Michael Jackson, Chadwick Boseman, journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and others. In this respect informs Bloomberg.

Accounts of some of the dead are kept by others, but there has been no activity on Cemal Khashoggi’s page since his murder, for example. The description of the checkbox says the account is verified because the user follows Twitter Blue and validates their phone number.
Due to the lack of press service that Elon Musk deployed shortly after purchasing the company, Twitter did not comment on the journalists’ requests.
Twitter verification has become paid from December 2022. A Twitter Blue subscription starts at $8 per month and gives you access to a number of features, including tweet editing and NFT avatars, along with a blue checkmark.
