Several popular Twitter users who opposed the paid Twitter Blue subscription received a verification mark and a subscription. In this respect informs network broadcast Rozetked.

It was noted that there are users who oppose Twitter Blue with the hashtag #BlockTheBlue among those who have verified subscriptions. Among them are @dril, @MattBinder, and @hasanthehun, who previously called Twitter Blue followers “mindless jerks.” They urged their readers to block anyone who paid for the subscription and received a blue checkmark.

Now, the activists themselves have received a checkmark stating that the user’s account has been verified as a Twitter Blue follower. At the same time, as users assure, they did not pay for this service and do not know how. And after a few hours, the checkmark on the @drill account disappeared, but other competitors remained.

Twitter and Elon Musk management have not yet commented on the subscriptions donated by Twitter Blue.

The #BlockTheBlue campaign was created in response to a Twitter innovation that made blue checkmarks exclusive to paid users. Previously, these checkmarks were given to celebrities, organizations, politicians and public figures who had passed a special check.

Formerly socialbites.ca saidTwitter said it has withdrawn blue checkmarks from celebrities who don’t pay for subscriptions, including Pope Francis, Bill Gates, and others.
