Microsoft has updated the Windows 11 Known Issues page. The company noted that some .NET Framework 3.5 applications may experience problems after installing the latest KB5012643 update. Previously, this version of the system was causing screen flickering in safe mode and minor issues with File Explorer and Start.
For example, some .NET Framework 3.5 applications may stop opening after installing KB5012643. The error affects applications that use Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Windows Workflow (WWF) components.
Users who have problems launching applications are recommended to uninstall update KB5012463 from Windows Update. The authors of BetaNews also recommend that you try restarting the .NET Framework 3.5 and WCF using the command line in the list of components and services of the Windows operating system. Both solutions are stated to be workarounds. Microsoft said it was already working on a solution to the problems, but did not specify release dates for the updates that worked.
