Manchester City football player Aymeric Laporte has said he won’t be paying for “blue tick” verification for his Twitter account, calling the company’s president Elon Musk a “crazy bastard”. It has been reported business insider.
The English Premier League player has criticized Elon Musk for his decision to cancel all celebrities being given blue ticks by default. All users who will pay monthly to Twitter Blue will now be able to have such a badge.
“Damn Elon, what have you done lol,” the Spanish defender wrote. After that, one of the users advised Laporte to pay and not think about the problem: “You are rich. Pay $8.”
Laporte said he won’t be paying Musk’s social networks for things he owns by default. “I wouldn’t pay for something that works great before some crazy guy decides to change everything,” added the football player.
Pope Francis and many other celebrities loss Twitter verification blue checkmark. Also on the list are former US President Donald Trump and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
