The layoffs became the most popular topic of discussion on the company’s internal forum last week, according to the agency.
“You have eroded the morale and confidence of many high-performers active in the company. Why should we stay on Meta?” – says one of the questions posed to Zuckerberg.
In more than a dozen LinkedIn posts, employees announced that they were truly impacted by the layoffs. Among those laid off were technical program managers, machine learning engineers, and UX researchers.
It was previously reported Meta decided to start new mass layoffs Employees will be restructured, including teams of WhatsApp messengers and the social network Instagram (the owner of the Meta company is recognized and banned in Russia as an extremist).
The cuts were linked to founder Mark Zuckerberg’s desire to increase the IT giant’s efficiency this year.
In November 2022, Meta laid off about 13% of its entire staff, or about 11,000 people. The company has also extended the moratorium on hiring.
