The American company Valve began the active development of the next version of the VR helmet for games. This was stated by the company’s producer, Greg Kumer, reports Game Rent.
“I can say with certainty that we have been working on a new VR helmet recently. This is because Valve has a lot of experience with VR devices and believes in games with virtual reality mode,” he said.
At the same time, the developer did not share any details about the device. It also did not provide any information about the planned release date of the new device.
“We want VR games to stay open to PC and not just on a particular platform. We continue to uphold this belief,” Kumer added.
The previous version of a virtual reality helmet from the company called Index was released in 2019. The gadget was not very popular, shortly after its release Valve switched to development of the Steam Deck portable console, which was much more warmly received by the gaming community.
It was said before for Half-Life: Alyx. there has been a changeallows you to fully play the game without a VR headset. Half-Life: Alyx is the prequel to Valve’s popular Half-Life 2 game, which was released exclusively for PC in March 2020.
