The World Court of Moscow’s Tagansky District fined the Twitch service in the amount of four million rubles. For not removing frauds related to the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In this respect informs Interfax agency.
The court found Amazon-owned platform Twitch guilty of refusing to remove misinformation about a special operation, nuclear war and general mobilization in Ukraine. According to the court protocol, the unreliable information that emerges “creates an atmosphere of panic among the people and creates the basis for destabilizing the socio-political situation”.
The sources of the fake sources were the adviser of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak and blogger Nekoglai, who were previously deported from Russia to Moldova.
It was noted that Twitch representatives did not appear in court.
It’s not the first time Twitch has been fined in Russia for not removing banned content. In total, the platform received a fine of about 20 million rubles.
