The demand for smart solutions for the home in Russia is growing rapidly – in January-March 2023, sales of such smart devices in the combined retail network of MegaFon and Yota increased by 52% compared to the same period last year. This was reported to socialbites.ca in the press service of MegaFon.
One of the reasons for the increase in demand is the decrease in the average bill for smart home devices.
“Demand has been significantly impacted by the 35% drop in the average price of such devices. Users bought a complete device for home automation, while manufacturers began to create cost-effective solutions by simplifying technical parameters. For example, now the cost of a smart lamp is almost comparable to a standard LED. “If a year ago prices in this category started at 1,300 rubles, now new products can be purchased for 699 rubles,” said David Borzilov, Sales Director of MegaFon.
Smart plugs have become the fastest growing category among smart home devices. Smart lighting systems took the second place and various smart sensors took the third place.
Smart lamps remain the main element of a smart home – they account for around 60% of sales.
