Salaries of IT specialists in Russia increased by 19% last year. This was announced during the parliamentary sessions of Maxim Parshin, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation “Development of legal and organizational mechanisms for the training of IT specialists”. “Now the salary level in the IT industry is twice as high as in other industries. This is more than the average for the economy,” Parshin said.

He also noted the growth of the IT sector in the country – in 2022 the number of Russian IT specialists increased by 12%, reaching over 750 thousand. At the same time, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Resources acknowledged the “enormous staff shortage” in this area.

“When I contact IT professionals, business owners, they usually say: Thank you for all the benefits and preferences from the Government and the State Duma. In general, nothing is needed anymore, the main and often the only problem that exists is the staff. This is the glass ceiling on which the IT business is built: give us the people,” said the vice president of the division.
