The American collected a gaming PC from components found in landfills for several months. In this respect informs Kotaku portal.
Reddit forum user Reddirp7 shared with Kotaku his story that he spent several months assembling a computer and rummaging through the trash of electronics stores and computer clubs. The only components he bought were a 750W power supply and 16GB of RAM, which cost him a total of $120.
Within six months, EVGA managed to build a PC equipped with GTX 570 graphics, Intel Core I7-3770 Non-K processor, Dell OptiPlex 9010 motherboard and iBUYPOWER Snowblind Element chassis. Moreover, as Reddirp7 admits, this is the second computer it has collected from discarded components.
Curious also shared that the video card initially did not work, but the problem was solved by baking it – this is one of the popular ways to restore some video cards.
