In the first quarter of 2023, smart speakers with voice assistants accounted for 74% of all Bluetooth speakers sold in Russia. This was reported to socialbites.ca in the press service of MegaFon.
It was noted that “smart” speakers continue to rapidly replace traditional Bluetooth speakers from the market. If speakers without volume control occupied 40% of the market in the first quarter of 2022, by the end of 2023 that share had fallen to 26%.
The seller attributes the rise in popularity of smart speakers to two factors. Firstly, more and more Russians receive minimal sets of tools from the category of “smart home”, whose control centers often become speakers with a voice interface.
Secondly, last year, inexpensive “smart” speaker models appeared on the market, comparable in price to traditional portable solutions. MegaFon noted that more than half of the sales of smart speakers in the company’s retail network come from five models that cost less than 4,000 rubles.
