Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Agency (NAPC) has included the Chinese company Xiaomi in its list of “international sponsors of the war,” according to a statement published on the agency’s website.
The statement stated that the reason for this decision is that “the company not only continues its work in the Russian Federation after the start of the special operation, but also maintains its leadership in smartphone sales in this country.”
The agency noted that although Xiaomi has not conducted marketing activities in the Russian Federation since spring 2022, it has not announced its plans to exit the Russian market.
Xiaomi is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world.
Prior to that, NAPC included French companies Auchan, Leroy Merlin, Bonduelle, American Procter & Gamble and several others in the same list.
