Drakman talked about his personal experience with FromSoftware games and also praised the latest project from Japanese developer Elden Ring. According to Druckman, Elden Ring has a special feel that is unique to video games and cannot be conveyed in a movie adaptation.
“Miyazaki’s plays make the actor feel talented and intelligent. This was achieved thanks to Miyazaki and his team’s uncompromising approach to game design. It doesn’t explain the mechanics or local knowledge, but relies on the player to explore the world on their own,” Darkman wrote.
DTF added that Hidetaka Miyazaki is the second Japanese game developer to be featured on TIME magazine’s list. The first in 2007 was Shigeru Miyamoto, one of Nintendo’s main creators.
