Among the editors of TIME magazine, Hidetaka Miyazaki, head of FromSoftware studio and game director of games such as Dark Souls and Elden Ring, was also among the most influential names of 2023. In this respect informs DTF Portal.

It was noted that the article about Miyazaki was written by Neil Druckman, president of Naughty Dog and co-creator of The Last Of Us series. Drakman talked about his personal experience with FromSoftware games and also praised the latest project from Japanese developer Elden Ring. According to Druckman, Elden Ring has a special feel that is unique to video games and cannot be conveyed in a movie adaptation.

“Miyazaki’s plays make the actor feel talented and intelligent. This was achieved thanks to Miyazaki and his team’s uncompromising approach to game design. It doesn’t explain the mechanics or local knowledge, but relies on the player to explore the world on their own,” Darkman wrote.

DTF added that Hidetaka Miyazaki is the second Japanese game developer to be featured on TIME magazine’s list. The first in 2007 was Shigeru Miyamoto, one of Nintendo’s main creators.
