Microsoft accuses Wagner PMC of spreading propaganda among American gamers

Speaking at the Semaphore World Economic Summit, Microsoft President Brad Smith accused Wagner PMC and Russian intelligence of spreading pro-Kremlin propaganda among American gamers. In this respect informs The IBT edition references Smith’s speech.

It was noted that Smith was aware of the alleged activities of Russian structures in gaming communities from the report of the Microsoft Digital Threat Analysis Group. Smith claims that the information was distributed to players via the Discord messenger.

“Usually a community is formed around games, people come together to communicate with each other, including during the game. For the past few months, our digital threat analysis team has been detecting Russian attempts to infiltrate some of these gaming communities,” Smith said.

IBT believes the Microsoft president made a political statement on the backdrop of an incident in which confidential Pentagon data was leaked. They became public domain after they were published on one of the Minecraft Discord servers.
