They are trying to deprive Russian users of the Telegram messenger using a new scam scheme – Russians are offered to switch to a bot that allegedly searches for candid photos of friends and acquaintances. The newspaper writes about it “News” With reference to Kaspersky Lab experts.
“People are being redirected to phishing pages under the pretext of gaining access to Adult Telegram. “Scammers gain account access after entering data on a phishing site,” said Olga Svistunova, Kaspersky Lab content analyst.
According to RTK-Solar expert Alexander Vurasko, the fake authorization pages on the messenger are always the same, only the myth used to lure the victim changes.
“Somewhere, the option to search for candid photos on the user or an “online detective” (a bot that allegedly collects all the conciliatory evidence appearing on the network) would work,” the expert said.
In one of the bots, users are offered to find private photos of anyone they know and are asked to log into the system via Telegram first. As a result, the victim receives a confirmation code and enters it on the website, allowing the scammers to access their account on their own.
