Google has launched automatic archiving of applications on smartphones with the Android mobile operating system. It has been reported AndroidAuthority.

It is stated that auto-archiving will automatically free up to 60% of the space in the device’s internal memory. According to the developers, this memory is usually occupied by applications that are rarely used. A similar popular iPhone-style feature has been implemented in Apple smartphones for a long time.

Google assured that archiving does not mean deleting apps or personal user data on the device. When you archive an app, its icon is marked with a cloud with a down arrow.

According to the portal, if the smartphone owner wants to use the archived application again, it will be possible to do so by clicking its icon. As a result, the application will be downloaded again, but will work as before it was archived, without the need for reconfiguration.

AndroidAuthority has announced that auto-archiving is only available for apps whose developers use the App Bundle to publish to app stores. Google also assured that if the owner of the gadget does not want to use the function, he can change the function key in the settings of the Google Play application store.
