Chinese tech giant Baidu is suing Apple and some developers as part of the crackdown on fake Ernie bot chatbot apps on the App Store. In this respect informs Reuters.
It was noted that Baidu filed a lawsuit in Beijing Haidian People’s Court against Apple and the developers of Ernie bot applications unrelated to chatbot. Ernie bot is an AI chatbot similar to ChatGPT and Google Bard.
Ernie bot is currently only available to a limited number of users. There are at least four fake Ernie bot apps on the App Store right now. Baidu warns users not to purchase chatbot test access codes from third-party vendors. Access to the tests can only be obtained from the company itself upon request.
Apple has not yet commented on the situation and has not disclosed how such apps are moderated in the App Store.
