Chinese company Baidu, best known for its search engine of the same name, has sued Apple and several developers for promoting fake Ernie apps. It has been reported Agency Reuters.
Ernie is Baidu’s equivalent of ChatGPT. The web version of the service became available in March 2023. Currently, Ernie does not have an official client in the form of a mobile application, but at least four fakes of the same name are distributed in the App Store from different developers.
It was noted that Baidu submitted all its claims to the Beijing People’s Court in the Haidian city district.
“Ernie currently does not have an official app. Baidu said in a statement that until the official announcement from our company, any Ernie app you see on the App Store or other stores is automatically considered by us to be fake.
Apple did not comment on the event at the time of publication of the news.
