Ubisoft has decided to hand over the developers of the remake of the stealth action game Splinter Cell to the production of a new installment of shooters in the open world Far Cry. In this respect informs Tom Henderson, an insider and author of the gaming portal Insider Gaming.
According to Henderson, a few real points to castling. Firstly, there were announcements on the website of the Ubisoft Toronto studio, which was responsible for the remake of the first episode of Splinter Cell, about hiring developers to create Far Cry. Second, on April 7, Ubisoft Toronto hosted a meeting where company management advised their employees on the future of the Splinter Cell series, and more importantly, Far Cry.
According to Henderson, the leading team in the Far Cry series is still Ubisoft Montreal. Ubisoft Toronto was called in to assist the main group.
An insider claims that two games are currently in development for Far Cry. One is a multiplayer spin-off and the second is a licensed episode whose action is likely to unfold in Alaska.
It is not known when both projects will be announced.
