Los Angeles-based movie company Dynamic Television has acquired the rights to create The Pirate Bay TV series about the pirate torrent tracker of the same name. In this respect informs Edition of Variety.
It is stated that the series will consist of six episodes. They will talk about how The Pirate Bay was created and developed by a group of young people from Peter Sunde, Fredrik Ney and Gottfried Svartholm. In particular, the show will cover the last months of the source’s life, when Peter, Fredrik and Gottfried are simultaneously chased by the police, lawyers, private detectives and even Interpol due to the spread of pirated content.
“This is a classic tale of rise and fall, a tragic analogy of what happens if you fly too close to the sun, and an example of a generational conflict,” said show writer Piotr Marciniak.
Filming will begin in the fall of 2023. The project will be produced primarily by B-Reel Films, the Stockholm studio known for the movie “Sunset”. Jens Sjögren, the director of the biopic I Am Zlatan, was brought to the director’s chair.
