A new application from Apple describing the facial recognition system for HomePod smart speakers has appeared on the website of the US Trademark and Patent Office. In this respect informs GizmoChina version.

The illustrations accompanying the app show a schematic representation of a HomePod with a video camera. As can be understood from the description, it is not required for video calls, but to determine the person giving the commands to the device.

As noted by GizmoChina, this system will improve human interaction with a smart home, provided it has several speakers. For example, if a person wants to turn off the light now, the speakers will turn off the light in all the rooms they are in. The camera will allow you to understand which room the user is in and only turn off the light there.

GizmoChina writes that while this addition may seem unpretentious, of course, if Apple decides to implement it, it will positively distinguish the HomePod from other smart speakers.

Formerly socialbites.ca Wrote Apple has delayed the development of a new HomePod, whose main feature is a built-in display. It is possible that the facial recognition system will also appear in this version.
