The beta version of the Microsoft Edge browser has a feature that blocks autoplay video and audio. In this respect informs 9to5google portal.
The novelty allows you to block all autoplaying audio and video files that can be found on different sites. The new feature is not yet available in the stable version of the browser, but can already be enabled in the “Cookies and site permissions” section in the Edge Canary settings.
Microsoft says the change will be more restrictive than the current option that limits video autoplay.
“We have heard your requests to block autoplay of media and are pleased to announce that it is now available. Microsoft said in a statement that Edge Canary now has a new setting that lets you block all media from a site from autoplaying.
Microsoft Edge’s main competitor, Google Chrome, does not have this feature, but it allows you to turn off auto-playing audio and video by pressing a dedicated button.
