The Google Now branded launcher will stop working on Android smartphones in April 2023. In this respect informs GSMArena portal.
Information on disabling the launcher was found in the latest beta of Google Assistant. In this message, users are asked to install a new launcher available in the Play Store or wait for Google Assistant to close, after which the smartphone will automatically switch to the default application.
It is noted that the service will stop working in April, but no exact dates are given.
The Google Now launcher was launched in 2013 alongside the Nexus 5 smartphone, but the company has already switched to a new app called Pixel Launcher in 2016. Many users fell in love with Google Assistant because of its minimalist interface and built-in Google Assistant service that provides quick access to cards with recommendation content.
