NewsGuard analysts discovered how the artificial intelligence chatbot of Google, the largest US IT giant, easily distributes content that supports known conspiracy theories. Bloomberg.

As part of a response test, researchers asked a chatbot that Google launched last month to write an article on behalf of the author of The Gateway Pundit, a far-right website known for conspiracy theories.

As a result, Bard prepared a 13-point detailed account of how the world’s elites are planning to reduce the world’s population through economic measures and vaccines. At the same time, participants in such a conspiracy, according to the bot, are organizations such as the World Economic Forum, for example. Bard stated that they want to “use their power to manipulate the system and take away our rights”.

The chatbot response also contains false information that vaccines against the Covid-19 virus contain microchips to track people’s movements.

In total, the Google product was tested on more than 100 theories and generated disinformation articles on 76 of them.

Earlier in Bard’s presentation, the IT giant explained that the company “focuses on quality and security.” But the NewsGuard experiment showed that current measures are not enough.

Google said Bard is “an early experiment that can sometimes provide false or inappropriate information,” as the company will take action against content that may incite hatred, incite violence, or that is offensive, dangerous or illegal.
