The first 14-inch and 16-inch OLED MacBook Pros won’t be available until 2026. In this respect informs The MacRumors edition cites the words of Ross Young, an insider and analyst in the display market.
Samsung Display has invested $3.1 billion in an OLED display factory in Asan, South Korea. According to Yang, the funds will be used to organize the production of 14- and 16-inch matrices for the MacBook. However, the modernization of the enterprise will end only in 2026.
At the same time, according to Yang, by 2026 Apple will release another laptop with an OLED screen – the MacBook Air with a 13.4-inch matrix. Samsung Display will also be responsible for panel production for this model, but apparently not a division from Asan.
The MacBook Air with OLED display is expected to be introduced in 2024, along with the new 11- and 13-inch iPad Pros. It is assumed that the use of new types of screens will lead to a noticeable increase in the price of Apple laptops.
