The Kremlin representative commented on the words of Valery Fadeev, head of the Presidential Council for the Advancement of Russian Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC), who spoke in favor of the closure of Wikipedia in the country on April 4.
“You know, in various formats, on different forums and at different levels, the point of view has been expressed repeatedly that we need to create an analogue of Wikipedia that is truly verified and contains accurate, objective information,” Peskov said.
As Peskov adds, Wikipedia contains a lot of distortion and misinformation.
The press secretary of the Russian president came to the conclusion that the question about the analogue of Wikipedia still stands and it is necessary to work in this direction.
In February of this year, the Wikipedia website stopped turning on in several countries of the world.
