Exploring Simulation YouTube channel engineer and author Ken Pillonell has released a video showing the process of making Apple AirPods with a wired connection. Initially, the headphones were Bluetooth connected and powered by batteries. The publication of Pillonel he drew MacRumors’ attention version.

The clip shows how an engineer opened the case of the Apple earphones, removed the battery from the earphone, and routed the wires to the power ports. Interestingly, the cable has a USB-C connector, not Lightning, which is used on most iPhones and iPads, which only adds to the nonsense of the Pillonel gem.

It is noted that the engineer made the headphones as a manifesto. With his pointless art, Pillonel wants to draw attention to the non-green nature of AirPods. Apple headphones are not repairable, so the gadget can be thrown away only after the battery is dead. The use of USB-C seems to be a complaint against Apple for its reluctance to switch to the mainstream USB-C standard, which forces people to buy additional cables, thereby increasing electronic garbage.

Wired AirPods aren’t Pillonel’s first sensational invention. Prior to that, it made the iPhone X, which uses USB-C instead of the Lightning jack.
