Finnish composer Jukka Rintamäki, author of the legendary soundtrack for first-person shooter Battlefield 3, has released an album inspired by the French science fiction novel Anomaly. Playlist with compositions released in: YouTube.
There are seven songs on the album, each with its own musical structure and theme based on the events in the book. Anomaly is a novel by French writer Hervé Le Tellier. The author received the Prix Goncourt for his story about couples and the mysterious forces of the universe.
According to the plot, in June 2021, a plane arrives from Paris to New York on the same flight to the same airport with the crew and passengers who arrived a hundred days earlier in March. Scientists are trying to unravel the cause of such an anomaly with “twins”. A television adaptation of the novel is currently in production.
The Battlefield 3 album opens with a reinterpretation of the classic Battlefield 2 orchestral theme. Back then, the main theme was played with older synthesizers rather than classical musical instruments. As a result, since the shooter was released in 2011, soundtracks featuring electronic instrument elements have become popular in games.
