Automaker Hyundai has released a video showing the operation of its branded robotic charging process for ACR electric cars for the first time. In this respect informs New edition of Atlas.

Hyundai first announced the development of the ACR in 2022. However, only the animation created using computer graphics was shown during the presentation. In the video, the company showed a fully working prototype.

The ACR is a column with a manipulator, at the end of which a connector for machines is attached. The device was created so that electric car owners can charge their vehicles without doing anything outside of parking.

The video shows a car entering the parking lot and a woman getting out. After the driver presses a special button on the key fob, the car goes to the self-charging station. Also, using the camera, the manipulator recognizes the desired hole in the machine and carefully inserts the connector into it.

The video shows other features of ACR. For example, on one side of the speaker is a large LED display that shows the charge level. The robot also has microphones from which it receives voice commands.

It is stated that ACR is not yet ready for release. However, Hyundai plans to hold a live demonstration of the device at the Seoul Mobility Show 2023 on March 30.
