Crypto scammers hacked the main and two additional YouTube channels of popular tech blogger Linus Sebastian. The largest of these, Linus Tech Tips, has more than 15 million subscribers. In this respect informs Edition of The Verge.

It was recorded that the incident occurred on March 23, 2023. After the hack on the Linus Tech Tips channel, the attackers started showing fake live broadcasts about the cryptocurrency. Some included excerpts from interviews with prominent figures in the IT field such as Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey.

More than 6 million subscribers in total, Linus Sebastian’s additional channels were renamed Tesla by hackers and added the company logo to his avatar. They also launched crypto broadcasts with the participation of Elon Musk.

At the time of the news, YouTube’s security service had already restricted the activity of two of the three hacked channels. In the third, the videos continue to slide with Musk.

Sebastian wrote on social networks that the Google team is already investigating what happened and is working to restore access to accounts.
