Blogger Girard Khalil, known by the alias The Completionist, bought absolutely every game in the store for the Wii U and 3DS consoles before Nintendo shut it down. Portal reports kotaku.

The decision to close stores for these consoles was announced by Nintendo at the beginning of 2022, citing low demand among players. Then Khalil decided to preserve the legacy of the Wii U and 3DS by purchasing all the games available in the stores to remain available to users.

It took almost a year for the blogger to implement this plan with his assistants. He bought 866 Wii U games (1.2TB total) and 1,547 3DS games (267GB total) for $22,700.

The Completionist, which buys games for them on hard drives as well as consoles, plans to donate to the Video Game History Foundation.
