Authorities and participants in the IT market in Russia began to develop a project for a domestic Android-based mobile ecosystem, writes. “Kommersant”citing sources familiar with the initiative.
The publication says the project was “created and supervised” by the Center for Informatics Expertise and Coordination within the Ministry of Digital Development. In the spring, the development should be presented to the corresponding Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The need for development is due to the fact that after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, many domestic developers were faced with the fact that their applications were removed from foreign platforms.
The first meeting was attended by representatives of Yandex, VK, Open Mobile Platforms, Rostelecom and domestic manufacturers of consumer electronics (Aquarius, F+ tech and others), as well as developers of Astra Group (Astra Linux), Kaspersky Lab ”, “Basalt DPT” (Alt Linux) and others.
According to sources, the party most interested in the project is VK.
