A Microsoft support employee resorted to running pirated software on a customer’s Windows 10 PC because a genuine copy of the operating system could not be officially activated. It has been reported Sleep Computer.

It was noted that this is not the first time IT professionals have used such workarounds to close support requests in a timely manner. A South African freelancer said he paid $200 for a genuine copy of Windows 10 but had trouble activating it.

“I was surprised to find that a Microsoft support engineer hacked my copy with unofficial tools that bypassed the Windows activation process,” he said.

Microsoft Software Activation is a Microsoft DRM technology that enables users to use genuine company products. On the contrary, the use of crack and other pirated software to bypass protection is not approved by the institution.

“The only reason I paid was to avoid malware altogether. Then that’s how they hacked it for me,” said one disgruntled customer.

Previously reported on Windows 11 there is a new function – updated volume mixer. This allowed users to quickly switch between active audio outputs such as headphones and speakers.
