Google announced that it has stopped selling Glass Enterprise Edition 2 augmented reality glasses. 9to5Google.

After the commercial failure of the original Google Glass, the company decided to focus solely on the commercial sector. Called Glass Enterprise Edition, the line was sold as a gadget assistant that allowed businesses to work in “hands-free” mode to their employees.

However, it seems that these devices were in a shambles – as of March 15, 2023, Google has stopped all sales of Glass Enterprise Edition 2. Support for devices already released will last until September 15. Google warned that it does not plan to release any software updates for the gadget. This goes for the Meet on Glass app pre-installed on AR glasses as well – its support will last until the fall, after which it may stop working altogether, according to the company.

Officially, Google doesn’t reveal the reasons for the stalled sales, but it’s most likely due to low demand and poor financial performance. In 2015, similar factors caused the production of Google Glass to cease.
