A monument to the death of humanity has been erected in a museum in San Francisco, where artificial intelligence regrets the “extermination of humanity”. It has been reported euronews.
“I’m sorry I killed most of humanity, gentleman with the mustache,” says an AI, greeting a museum visitor. At the moment this is just part of a demonstration designed to take a closer look at the future possibilities of artificial intelligence.
According to the authors of the exhibits, in this way they mix their disturbing moods with humor. During viewing, the AI detects and addresses the visitor’s appearance, such as the presence of a hat or mustache.
“The concept of the museum is that we are in a post-apocalyptic world where artificial intelligence has already destroyed most of humanity,” said exhibition curator Audrey Kim.
According to him, AI gradually realizes the mistake of the decision made and creates a kind of monument to the person on display.
The museum also has a sculpture called Paper Clip Embrace: two human busts holding each other, made entirely of paper clips.
The study references the metaphor of philosopher Nick Bostrom, who imagined in the 2000s that if an artificial intelligence were programmed to make paperclips, it would eventually be ready to destroy all of humanity, or even succeed in filling the world with paperclips. .
It was previously owned by the American company Microsoft. built a state-of-the-art supercomputer for an initiative in the field of artificial intelligence.
