US Republican Senator Joni Ernst has criticized the US government for spending public money on questionable scientific research involving animals. In this respect informs Edition of The Washington Times.
Ernst pointed out that experiments were conducted to teach pigs video games, which the politician called “Swinecraft” in the style of Minecraft, especially at the expense of federal funding in the United States. Additionally, state-sponsored research has attempted to teach dolphins to communicate with humans via touchpads, according to Ernst.
The senator is demanding that the government pass legislation that requires researchers who use the federal budget to report in their publications that they are spending taxpayer money.
Ernst cited a $650,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to All Things Bugs to raise flourworms as another example of the irrational expenditure of the state budget. All Things Bugs promises to develop a faster, bigger way to grow worms so they can be used as meat substitutes later.
