Specialists of the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery (NPZ), part of the Samara group of NK Rosneft, launched the ecotourism mobile application ECOpath63 for virtual tours around the Samarskaya Luka National Park. This was reported by the press service of Rosneft.
The company states that the project was implemented as part of the development of Rosneft’s environmental initiatives.
The new app uses augmented reality technologies to visualize tourist routes, cultural sites, natural monuments and habitats of rare animal species. The solution will allow users to recognize the landscapes of the national park from afar, as well as mark their favorite places to visit.
In the future, the Samara enterprises of Rosneft, together with the Samarskaya Luka National Park, will begin to study the Red Book animals living in the reserve. Scientists have developed a program to study a rare bird of prey – the white-tailed eagle. The collected data will allow the assessment of bird status and the development of a set of measures for the conservation and conservation of endangered bird species.
Rosneft explains that representatives of the scientific community, eco-volunteers, environmental students and schoolchildren are also involved in the project. Special environmental classes are held that introduce visitors to the national park to the region’s unique ecosystem and biodiversity, while also increasing the environmental responsibility of residents.
Samarskaya Luka National Park is a UNESCO Middle Volga Biosphere Reserve. The Novokuibyshevsk Refinery has been supporting the national park’s environmental projects for the conservation and preservation of biodiversity for several years.
