Only 11% of Russians claim to be IT savvy – this is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the GeekBrains education platform in conjunction with VK (available on socialbites.ca).

More than half (52%) of respondents said they knew the basics in IT, and more than a third (36%) knew almost nothing about the field. At the same time, 80% of Russians are sure that in the modern world everyone must somehow understand IT.

Russians named media posts and educational videos on YouTube as the main sources of information on IT (38% each). At the same time, almost half (48%) of respondents prefer Russian sources and only 16% turn to foreign sources more frequently. The rest try to follow both these and others.

More than 1,200 respondents aged 18 to 55 across Russia took part in the survey.

Formerly socialbites.ca we talked about itThat Russian companies no longer have a serious shortage of equipment needed to build their own IT infrastructure.
