A number of Japanese companies, including SoftBank, Hitachi, and Fujitsu, have begun restricting the use of artificial intelligence such as the ChatGPT chatbot in their workflows. It has been reported Asian Nikkei Review. One reason is management’s concerns about the risk of leaks and other cyber threats.

In particular, some executives have already banned the uploading of sensitive information, including “identifiable” company data, to AI-based services. In addition, they are worried about possible errors – chatbots are known to sometimes provide false information that can have a negative impact on both business and brand customers.

A day ago, the world’s largest financial institutions, including Bank of America, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs Group, JPMorgan Chase and others, also decided to refuse to use ChatGPT for business. Leaders of these companies have expressed concern that any mistake AI may make could become critical in the banking industry.
