Chinese scientists have developed and tested artificial intelligence (AI) to upgrade electronic systems on warships that operate 300 times faster than a human engineer. In this respect informs The South China Morning Post (SCMP) cites a publication in the February 27 scientific journal Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems.

It is stated that the work of artificial intelligence has been tested on 400 different tasks. The algorithm can do in one day the work that an engineer would take about 300 days, or almost an entire year, even with the most modern computer tools. At the same time, while artificial intelligence shows 100% accuracy, errors are inevitable in human work due to the high complexity of designing warships.

The authors of the study said that there are points for improvement in AI’s work, but even in its current form, it is ready for fieldwork in the shipbuilding industry.

According to the SCMP, the Chinese navy will have more than 400 warships by 2025, which is about a third of the US fleet.
